Tony Martin - Managing Director
Tony has been designing and developing professional websites and Internet applications for over 11 years. He is the former Creative Director for ProDX, ranked a “Top 10” IT company in Portland, Oregon. His broad background iin business development, ability to quickly discern customer requirements, and his natural creative flair has become the hallmark of GBS Dezign. As Founder and Director of GBS Dezign, Tony has built a solid team of IT professionals with a reputation for good communication, quick response and getting the job done on time and within budget.
Diana Hoff - North American Director
As North American Director for GBS Dezign, Diana brings over 20 years of business and project management experience to the team. She drives our North American sales for tier-one clients. Prior to GBS Dezign, she held several management positions at Renaissance Bankcard Services and Sears Credit. Diana also serves on various boards and advisory committees for local non-profit organizations in the Portland, Oregon metro area.
Jonathan Mendez - Senior Designer - Publishing
Award-winning graphic designer, Jonathan Mendez, adds world-class creative expertise to the GBS Dezign team. Jonathan has extensive experience in magazine and marketing publications with a special interest in non-profit organizations. He has expert proficiency in all industry standard software packages including QuarkXpress, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Freehand. With an education from the Hans Newmann Institute of Design and California State University, Jonathan has received numerous awards for his print designs and corporate ID work [2002 & 2003 ADDY Awards; Gold at the District Competition of the AAF; Series of logos published in the international book of logos “Logo Lounge 2005”; Best Poster 2001 Spring Show California State University; 2001 Creative/Innovative Award, California State University Union]. He is fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written), and enjoys photography and art in his spare time.
Chris Maffey - IT Director / ASP.NET Developer
Chris has unrivaled expertise in future-proof content managed websites. He graduated from Otago University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Commerce in Information Science with First Class Honors. Chris was the lead Vignette Storyserver developer for Telecom XTRA’s first portal site xtra.co.nz (which won the New Zealand News Site of the Year Award) Warner Music, as well as INL’s stuff.co.nz. He has enjoyed 12 years of IT experience on a host of prominent national and international sites, most recently Carter Holt, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, and The Warehouse.
Andreas Scholz - IT Director / Unix, PHP Developer
Andy is an accomplished hardware and software engineer with more than 20 years experience in the industry. This experience ranges from low-level hardware and embedded systems design, through to high-end enterprise level Information Management systems. Andy has a substantial skill base in the design of Internet Knowledge Management systems and he is highly regarded in the field of Document Management. He has a proven track record of design and implementation in this field. In the late 90’s he was a founding member, Director and chief architect of Silent One Ltd - an innovative software development company whose Internet-based Document Management products have been successfully deployed in a number of high-profile organisations.
Phil Cotching – Senior Programmer / Server Administrator
Phil is a Senior IT professional with over 9 years experience and a wide range of skills within the IT industry. Having worked on enterprise-level projects for Fonterra (NZ), Interspeed Web Solutions (NZ), and Realmedia (UK and Switzerland), Phil possesses unparalleled analytical, design and problem solving skills. Since achieving his Bachelor of Science and Diploma of Information Technology, Phil was quickly promoted to Senior IT positions. He has been the development Team Leader for large-scale projects for the past 5 years. His excellent communication skills and capacity for high-quality technical support is sincerely appreciated by our team, and our clients.
Ian Brayshaw - Senior Designer
Ian has a strong design portfolio covering a broad range of industry disciplines. With over seven years experience in the graphic design industry since his graduation from the Manawatu School of Design, Ian is proficient in web design, brand implementation and advertising work. As former Senior Designer for Inspire Net and Inspired Web Solutions, Ian possesses a very keen creartive sense and has the ability to craft ideas into impressive communication pieces, both online and in print.
Cain Coulton - Multimedia Developer / Senior Programmer
Cain is a Flash Action Script expert and database engineer. Cain specializes in high-end online multimedia applications and the implementation of SQL driven dynamic websites. His diverse skill set, particularly his expertise in backend programming for Flash sites, has proven to be a valuable asset to GBS Dezign. When he is not at the desk, you’ll find Cain touring the USA as lead guitarist for popular band Detour 180.
Hamilton Laughland - Senior Visual Basic & VB.NET Developer, PHP Developer
Hamilton is an accomplished database and application programmer specializing in Visual Basic, the core of ASP.NET. After topping his Visual Basic 6 course at AMES Training in 1999, Hamilton has become a highly proficient programmer with broad experience in backend applications for a host of international clients.
Jane Banyard - Proofreader, Technical Writer
Jane brings a breadth of experience to the team, combining strong editorial and writing proficiency with technical expertise. With a petrochemical engineering background, Jane honed her meticulous technical writing skills while employed at Texaco Canada. Fluent in both French and English, she has many years of writing experience across a broad spectrum of industry and academic disciplines.
Oliver Banyard - Designer
Oliver oozes creativity; his passion for design and digital production - in particular media-rich websites and films - is very contagious. He has successfully completed courses in HTML coding and Adobe/Macromedia web development applications. We're pleased to have Oliver join our design team, focusing on media-rich projects.
